The fact that these are all Toyota products is a coincidence.
N30 or N40 Hilux
Z30 Toyota Soarer or !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that hasn’t been beaten to death or turned into a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Toyota 88C
This truly a fair comparison...

Excuse me while I whip this out...

Soarer. I love how badass they are but how bland they look.
Don’t get me wrong, I love their appearance, but boy is it uninspired.

88c. because racecar.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 20:44 |

This would be the worst DD, track, burn ever because as Top Gear has proven, you can’t even burn a Hilux.

hilux FTW!

Is that a tso20 with registration?

Race car.
Because race car.

Hilux. Every time I see an older small pickup, I’m reminded of what we can’t get on the market anymore.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 20:53 |

I do believe there is at least one road legal one if I remember correctly
![]() 11/03/2016 at 20:53 |

I want small pickups so bad
![]() 11/03/2016 at 20:59 |

Couldn’t choose
![]() 11/03/2016 at 20:59 |

It is. They made one for homologation rules in GT1, it is owned by Toyota.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:00 |

Then it’s easy! DD Soarer, Track 88-C, attempt and fail to burn Hilux!
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:00 |

If you can’t burn it, at least you’d have the most reliable DD... in the wuhrld.

GTP required that there be at least 2 road cars produced. It also requred that there be storage space for a suitcase somewhere in the car. Mercedes put a little cubby under the engine cover. Toyota convinced the ACO that when the gas tank was empty you could put a suitcase in it.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:05 |

Well I suppose they didn’t say you had to drive it with the suitcase in it.

The rule was intended to ensure that the vehicle could be considered “usable to the public”.

DD Hilux
Track race thingy
Burn wannabe Coupe de Ville
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:22 |
|
The pickup is okay I guess

This isn’t a Dr. Zoidberg thread...?
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:25 |

So it means having to DD the Hilux after attempting to burn it because you aren’t burning the 88C.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:26 |

Better than being mediocre!
![]() 11/03/2016 at 21:53 |
|
Nah, just give it away. I’m not burning a Z30 unless it’s a GE with an auto.

The HiLux California just makes me mad. They name a truck after a U.S. state then don’t sell it here... Maximum irony.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 22:08 |
|
You have to burn one. That’s how this works.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 22:16 |

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiine... essplode the Hilux.
![]() 11/03/2016 at 22:34 |

You’re not missing much more than certain death with the current Hilux, though.

I’m going to be the voice of difference - The SC400 is an incredibly underrated vehicle. The one I had was mostly perfect with the odd choice by a P.O. of having had it’s mufflers completely removed. And believe it or not it was awesome! I soaked up highway miles like you wouldn’t believe, handled respectably for a big girl, made nice noises and has about the best interior ever created.
The only reason I’ve not had another one is that I generally avoid automatic transmissions, the V8 didn’t get them and finding a 300 with one is nearly impossible.

That orange Hilux! If I can find a decent beater of that vintage an orange respray is in order. Would go with my 82' 4x4 nicely...
